The present conditioning polymers are well known and widely used in hair and skin care products due to their high substantivity without buildup effect. In hair care, the products make combing dry and wet hair easier, reducing the risk of hair damage. When dyeing, they improve the deposition and distribution of the dye through the hair. In skin products, they give a long-lasting feeling of softness and velvety.
Categories of Ingredients
Polyquaternium-10
White or tan powder
Water-soluble powder, shows high compatibility with amphoteric and anionic surfactants. It has a high substantivity to protein substrates, therefore it is an excellent conditioner for hair and skin.
Polyquaternium-6
Light yellow viscous liquid containing about 40% active substance
An aqueous solution of a cationic polymer. Compatible with non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants, not compatible with anionic surfactants.
Polyquaternium-7
Colorless viscous liquid containing about 10% active substance
Aqueous solution of a high molecular weight polymer. Due to the exceptional distribution of non-ionic and cationic monomers, it shows very high compatibility with non-ionic, amphoteric and anionic surfactants.
